Uzanto

Uzanto is a Silicon Valley based software products startup. We have a development center in New Delhi, which is involved in building global scale, world class web applications, using cutting edge web technologies. We have recently launched a Web 2.0 application called SlideShare (www.slideshare.net). This is the first product of its kind and is meant for sharing presentations on the internet. SlideShare was featured prominently on TechCrunch

Job Description

You will be involved in designing, developing, coding, testing, running a global scale web application.
You will work on the following
- cutting edge server side technologies like Ruby-on-Rails, MySQL, Lighttpd, Mongrel, Pound, FreeBSD, XML, Debian.
- frontend technologies like AJAX, FLASH, Actionscript, Javascript
- running a multi-machine server cluster that uses S3 (Amazon Web Services)

This is very a challenging assignment; you will learn to shoulder a lot of responsibilities very early in your career. Involves working in a small but highly integrated & motivated team

Desired Profile

- Candidates must be BE/BTech in Comp. Sc with an excellent track record and strong academic background, preferably from IITs/RECs.
- Exposure to latest web application technologies (AJAX / FLEX / Javascript/Actionscript) and enterprise back-end technologies (Ruby on Rails/MySQL/ Java/ XML). Genuine passion for web technology reqd; Ability to pick up new APIs quickly reqd
- Candidates with special interest in latest web trends (Blogging, Wikis, RSS, Web 2.0 etc) are preferred
- Candidates who have undertaken innovative, independent projects & assignments (outside the purview of their academic or professional work) are preferred
